Energy: What Does the Future Hold?

 

Join us on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 for a panel discussion on the evolution of the energy industry: from where we are today to exploring new frontiers in the industry. Our panelists will share their expertise on the transitions already occurring within the energy ecosystem and discuss trends that will impact the way energy is generated, transmitted, and stored in the future. 

 

About the Speakers

 

Joshua A. Gregg D06

Chief Financial Officer, Double Eagle Energy Holdings IV, LLC

Mr. Gregg is Chief Financial Officer of Double Eagle Energy Holdings IV, LLC ("Double Eagle IV"), an oil and gas company based in Fort Worth, Texas. Double Eagle IV is an exploration and production company with assets focused in the Permian Basin in Texas. Prior to Double Eagle IV, Mr. Gregg was CFO and SVP of Corporate Development of DoublePoint Energy LLC ("DoublePoint"), a subsidiary of Double Eagle Energy Holdings III LLC ("Double Eagle III"). On May 4, 2021, DoublePoint announced the sale of substantially all of the Company's assets to Pioneer Natural Resources (NYSE:PXD) for $6.4 billion. Prior to Double Eagle III, Mr. Gregg was CFO of Double Eagle II, which sold to Parsley Energy (NYSE:PE) in February of 2017 for $2.8 billion.

Before joining Double Eagle, Mr. Gregg was a Principal at Apollo Global Management (NYSE:APO). At Apollo, he focused on direct investments in the oil and gas space. Previously, Mr. Gregg was a member of the mergers and acquisitions group at Nomura in Sydney, Australia. He began his career as a member of the leveraged finance group at Lehman Brothers in New York. 

Mr. Gregg served on the board of directors of Double Eagle Energy I LLC and currently serves on the board of directors of Medallion Midland Partners, LLC, the TCU Energy Institute at the Neeley School of Business, and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) Enterprise Club. Mr. Gregg graduated from Dartmouth College with an A.B. in Earth Science and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Gregg lives in Fort Worth and is married with two children. 

 

Paul Huelskamp D06

Co-Founder and CEO, Moxion Power

Paul Huelskamp is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Moxion Power. Paul is responsible for guiding Moxion's corporate strategy and capital raising activities. He has 15+ years of experience as a private equity professional and entrepreneur in the renewable energy industry.

Prior to co-founding Moxion, Paul was responsible for sourcing and managing investments at EverStream Energy Capital Management, LLC. He was a founding team member of EverStream Yield, a yield-oriented renewable energy company that was sold to Sun Edison and taken public in July 2014 as Terraform Power, Inc. Prior to joining EverStream, Paul worked at SunPower Corp., splitting time between the utility-scale development and structured finance teams. 

Paul began his career at the Praedium Group, an opportunistic real estate private equity fund based in NYC. Paul enjoys golfing, skiing, trail running, and playing with Legos.

 

Richard L. Walton D06

President, Archaea Energy

Mr. Walton has served as President of Archaea Energy since September 2021 and remains in this position and on the board of Archaea post the acquisition by BP in December of 2022. Mr. Walton served as co-founder and President of Archaea Energy LLC until combination with Rice Acquisition Corp. and Aria Energy LLC in September 2021. Mr. Walton oversees the process of gas extraction at partner sites, manages business operations, and works to increase awareness of the benefits of RNG nationwide.

Before working at Archaea Energy LLC, Mr. Walton was, and still is, the founder, CEO, president and director of Noble Environmental, Inc., an industry-leading environmental services company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, focused on providing innovative solutions to solid waste management companies. At Noble's municipal site, Mr. Walton oversaw the operation of a 2000 scfm high-BTU project.

Mr. Walton was also the CEO of Redstone International, a services company that specializes in deep foundations, earth retention, and shoring systems and grouting solutions. Before Redstone, Mr. Walton was an investor with the private equity firm AlpInvest in New York, NY, and an investment banker with Citigroup. Mr. Walton graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. 

 

Funmi Ogunsanya D24

Moderator

Funmi is a member of the Dragon Class of 2024 studying economics and environmental studies at Dartmouth College. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Funmi is a member of the Beta Alpha Omega fraternity, where he serves as the Philanthropy Chair. In this role, Funmi organizes community service and fundraising events for non-profit organizations in the Upper Valley and Massachusetts. He is also a member of the Sadie Alexander Association and a member of the Black Ivy Coalition. Post graduation, Funmi hopes to pursue a career in the energy industry, the development of renewable and nonrenewable energy, and how the management of these systems can create new equitable solutions for how we develop as a society and how we react to climate change.
