ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS

Jay Fiedler D94

Jay Fiedler began his football career at Oceanside High School in Long Island where he started for three years and passed for over 4,800 yards—a Nassau County record—and was named an All-County player after his junior and senior seasons. While at Oceanside, Jay was also an outstanding basketball player and track athlete. He was a three-year starter and received All County honors as a senior guard on the basketball team. In track, he was a two-time State Champion and held the State record in the pentathlon.

Following graduation at Oceanside, Jay went onto become a record-breaking quarterback at Dartmouth where he completed 456 passes in 813 attempts and threw for 6,684 yards and 58 touchdowns. He was Ivy League Player of the Year in 1992 and was an All-Ivy League selection his final three years at Dartmouth where he earned a degree in engineering. Jay was also awarded the Kenneth Archibald Prize (1992), the Alfred E. Watson Trophy (1992 and 1993) and was inducted into the Wearers of the Green (1994).

Jay's professional career began in 1994 when he was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent. After two seasons with the Eagles, Jay was released prior to the 1996 season and spent the next two years as a volunteer coach at Hofstra University and played with the Amsterdam Admirals of the WLAF (NFL Europe) for a season. He clawed his way back into the NFL signing and playing with the Minnesota Vikings in 1998 and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1999 where he got his first real opportunity on the field. Jay parlayed his on-field success by signing to compete for the starting role with the Miami Dolphins in 2000. Through 5 seasons as the Dolphins starting Quarterback, he led the team to three 10+ win seasons in a four-year period which included two postseason appearances and an AFC East title. His career continued for one season with the New York Jets where he suffered a career ending shoulder injury. Overall, he passed for 11,844 yards and 69 touchdowns in his NFL career.

Jay currently lives in Long Island, NY with his wife and 2 children. He operates a football training business (Prime Time Camps) where he offers camps, clinics and private coaching to athletes of all ages and skill levels from beginners to pros.

Zack Walz D98

Zack Walz is a former NFL linebacker who was drafted with the 5th pick of the 6th round and played 4 seasons for the Arizona Cardinals. He was named as the starting outside linebacker his 2nd, 3rd and 4th years before season ending injuries cut all three seasons, and ultimately his career, short.

Walz was an All American, 3-year starter at Dartmouth, a 3-time Unanimous 1st Team All-Ivy Selection, Team Captain and currently sits 3rd all-time for tackles in a career with 356. Walz was inducted into the Wearers of the Green in 1999.

Walz attended Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, California, where he played several years against Tom Brady, once sacking him 4 times in a single game. Walz also had a close relationship with Cardinals teammate and future Army Ranger, Pat Tillman, as they both grew up in the Bay area and played against each other in High School.

Pat and Zack were eventually reunited in the NFL as they were drafted one round apart in 1998. They were roommates during their time together with the Arizona Cardinals. Walz recounted a story at Tillman’s Eulogy about his rookie year when he was taped to the goal post by veterans for forgetting to bring them breakfast. Tillman famously cut him down and this story was the subject of several documentaries including commentary by former Cardinals Head Coach, Dave McGinnis in “Pat Tillman: A Football Life.”

Matt Kaskey D19

Matt Kaskey is a former professional offensive tackle and was initially signed by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2019 before being signed by the Carolina Panthers later in 2019, where he played through 2021. In 2023 and 2024, he played for the Birmingham Stallions, where he was a two-time UFL champion, as well as the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams.

Matt played offensive tackle for Dartmouth throughout his college career. While playing for Dartmouth, he was a three-year starter, was named an All-Ivy League Champ, and was named a two-time First Team All-Ivy League. In his junior season, Matt was chosen by the coaching staff as the recipient of the team's Jake Crouthamel Award, which is awarded to a member of the varsity offense who contributes the most to the success of the team. In his senior season, in which he was named a captain, Matt was awarded the Frank Hershey Award "as the player who, judged by his teammates, possesses a genuine zest for life, a strong, upbeat attitude and a sincere desire to win because of his dedication and love for the game."

Matt grew up in Winnetka, IL and attended New Trier High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in History from Dartmouth, where he was a member of GDX and Vice President of the Dragon Class of 2019. Matt is currently applying to business school programs.
