From Saskatchewan to “The Show” via Dartmouth: A Conversation with Tanner Glass’07
Former professional hockey player Tanner Glass will share lessons learned—through hockey and beyond—that inspired his choices. From his time at Dartmouth through the NHL, Glass will reflect on the top five lessons that helped guide him throughout his career.

A ninth-round pick (No. 265) of the Florida Panthers in the 2003 NHL Draft out of Junior A hockey, Tanner Glass made his way from Dartmouth College through the minors and into the NHL with a strong work ethic, a commitment to physical play and a willingness to stand up for his teammates. In his junior year at Dartmouth, he was named an alternate captain of the Big Green hockey team before being named captain as a senior; Glass finished his NCAA career with 31 goals, 82 points and 198 penalty minutes in 124 games. He won the McInnis Award, which is given to the Dartmouth player who best reflects the spirit, camaraderie, loyalty and dedication to the team. Tanner served as Vice President of his Dragon Class.
Glass made his NHL debut in November 2007 playing for the Panthers before spending two seasons with the Canucks. He also played with the Winnipeg Jets, the Pittsburgh Penguins and later signed with the Rangers and helped New York advance to the Eastern Conference Final. Glass played with Calgary before retiring from the NHL in 2019 and lives in Seattle with his wife (Emily Tracy D’07) and their two sons.
